Dieffenbachia mars
Light: Dieffenbachia enjoy bright, indirect light but can tolerate light shade. Lower light levels reduce the rate of growth and dull leaf variegation. Direct sunlight will scorch the leaves.
Water: Water when the soil starts to become slightly dry at the top. Do not over water.
Temperature: Prefers warm to high temperatures, ideally between 18-24°C but can cope with as low as 10°C for short periods. Avoid draughts.
Humidity: Normal to increased humidity levels work best. Dieffenbachia will relish the occasional misting and the use of a pebble tray.
Feed: Apply a weak dose of a fertiliser about once a month during the growing season.
Care tips: Wipe leaves with a damp cloth to remove accumulated dust or pop it in the shower for a while. Cut back by removing the top of the plant if it grows too tall.
Air Purifying: This plant filters airborne toxins and is part of our clean air plant collection.
Height and Growth Rate: Ultimate height 1-1.2m. Moderately fast growing.
Toxicity: Leaves and sap are toxic and should not be ingested. Keep away from children and animals.
Origin: Tropical America.
